View and Edit Object Level Data Protection Settings¶
Prerequisites¶
A bucket has been created with the Object-lock feature enabled.
View Object Level Data Protection Settings¶
From the main menu, choose Data Management. Click Data Browser from the side menu and select an account from the top drop-down list in the breadcrumb.
Click the bucket’s name to view its objects.
If the object is protected, there is a lock icon next to its name.
A lock icon indicates a retention:
A closed lock means the retention is active.
An open lock means the retention is inactive.
A balance scale icon indicates the object has a legal hold.
Select an object by clicking its row to view its information.
On the Summary tab there is a Data protection section.
The Lock field displays the Object-Lock retention status.
If there is a retention setting on the object, the retention mode (Governance or Compliance) and the retention limit date are displayed.
The Legal Hold field displays the legal hold status, which can be Active or Inactive.
Edit Object Level Data Protection Settings¶
In the bucket object list, select an object by clicking its row.
On the object’s Summary tab, locate the Data protection section.
Slide the Legal Hold toggle to change the status.
The change takes effect immediately.
Note
Object-lock retention settings are read-only in the object Summary tab and cannot be modified after the object is created.
