Customize Monitoring Features

This section covers the customization of key monitoring features available in the ARTESCA platform, including configuration and customization options for alert notification, and alert management.

Logging and Log Forwarding

ARTESCA uses Fluent Bit as its log collection engine. Fluent Bit can serve two independent purposes:

• Internal log viewing (Loki): Fluent Bit collects cluster logs and sends them to Loki, where they can be explored through Grafana. This is useful for debugging. Loki is disabled by default due to its high resource usage.

• Audit log forwarding (SIEM): Fluent Bit can forward audit logs to an external SIEM system (Splunk, Graylog, Elasticsearch, or Syslog) for security and compliance purposes.

These two features are independent: you can enable either one, both, or neither. If you enable both, Fluent Bit handles both tasks simultaneously.
