Delete a Storage Location

Procedure

  1. Click Data Management on the top menu.

  2. Click Locations in the left sidebar to view the list of storage locations.

  3. Find the storage location you want to delete, and click the trashcan icon.

    Important

If the trashcan icon is grayed out, and you have a You cannot delete this location pop-up message, this means the location contains data. Make sure to delete all objects and all buckets within that location before you can delete the location itself.

  4. Confirm the deletion on the dialog box.

  1. Retrieve tokens and instance ID as described in Retrieve Access Tokens.

  2. Set a location name.

    [artesca-os@bootstrap ~]$

    LOCATION_NAME="<name of the location>"

  3. Delete a location.

    [artesca-os@bootstrap ~]$

    curl -s -k -X DELETE \
        -H "X-Authentication-Token: ${TOKEN}" \
        -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
        "https://management.<base-domain-name>/api/v1/config/${INSTANCE_ID}/location/${LOCATION_NAME}" | \
        jq '.'

Clean up Kafka Consumer Groups for Replication

If the deleted storage location was used with replication workflows, you need to clean up the associated Kafka consumer groups to avoid stagnant lag in these consumer groups, which might trigger alerts.

Refer to Replication Topic Lag Alert for more information about the procedure.
