Storage Metrics¶
ARTESCA provides hourly calculated storage consumption metrics accessible in the ARTESCA UI to help you monitor your data usage. The user needs to have the Storage Manager role to see these metrics in the ARTESCA UI. The Storage Account Owner, and by extension the Data Consumer, does not have access to these metrics in the ARTESCA UI. Users with the Storage Usage Reporter role can retrieve per-account and per-location metrics programmatically using the Storage Usage Reporting API.
This data can be accessed across 4 different levels of granularity within the UI:
For versioned buckets, these metrics consider both the current and previous versions of objects. It impacts the data at all granularity level as accounts and locations are composed of buckets (versioned or not).
Important
Known limitations in ARTESCA 4.3.3
Deletion on the bucket from-replication will reduce the Data Used value. Replication would have still been done, but no longer counted or visible.
Deletion on the target location is not monitored.
An object version might be counted twice in the same location, in case of ARTESCA managed locations:
From the storage class of the object in the target bucket.
From the replication MD from the source bucket.
Note
The Scality Utilization Reporting (SUR) API provides access to storage usage metrics at different levels: account, bucket, and location. For more information, refer to Scality Utilization Reporting API.
The Storage Usage Reporting API provides a single endpoint to retrieve aggregated storage usage across all accounts and locations. This API is available to users with the StorageManager or StorageUsageReporter role.
