Alert Management¶

Understanding the management of alerts is necessary in order to keep your platform healthy. Alerts are visible from the ARTESCA UI. It gives you insight on what your system is facing and what is the cause.

The following table gives you action to take if any of these alerts show up.

KubeJobFailed (Cluster)	Warning	Follow Resolve Job Failures in Kubernetes. If the alert persists, contact the Scality Support team via Ticket.
PostegreSQLDown (Cluster)	Critical	Gather System Information Using the sosreport Tool and share the report file with the Scality Support team via Ticket.
ClockNotSynchronizing (Node)	Warning	Follow Node Time Not Synchronized With Cluster. If the alert persists, contact the Scality Support team via Ticket.
NodesFilesystemAlmostOutOfSpace (Node)	Warning/Critical	If problem on: `/val/lib/containerd`: it will be removed automatically `/val/logs`: if the alert persists, contact the Scality Support team via Ticket `/`: check and clean up your `/home/artesca-os` directory.
NodeBondingDegraded (Node)	Warning	Check Hardware on Bonding interfaces.
KubeNodeNotReady/KubeNodeUnreachable	Warning	Gather System Information Using the sosreport Tool and share the report file with the Scality Support team via Ticket.
DataServiceDown (Storage Service)	Critical	Gather System Information Using the sosreport Tool and share the report file with the Scality Support team via Ticket.
NeedRepair/DataServiceNoRepair	Critical	Gather System Information Using the sosreport Tool and share the report file with the Scality Support team via Ticket.
NodeRAIDDegraded/NodeRAIDDiskFailure	Critical	Follow Replace a Service Disk. If the alert persists, contact the Scality Support team via Ticket.
KubePersistentVolumeFillingUp	Critical	Choose one of the following solution depending on your configuration.
OSUpgradeInProgress	Warning	No action is required. This status indicates that the operating system is currently being updated.
OSUpgradeInProgress	Critical	The OS update was most likely interrupted in the middle. Follow the OS update process to re-run it.
OSUpgradeFailed	Critical	The OS update failed. Follow the OS update process to re-run it. If the alert persists, contact the Scality Support.
UpgradeInProgress	Warning	No action is required. This status indicates that the ARTESCA cluster is currently being uprgraded.
UpgradeInProgress	Critical	The Upgrade was most likely interrupted in the middle. Follow the upgrade process to re-run it.
UpgradeFailed	Critical	The Upgrade failed. Follow the upgrade process to re-run it. If the alert persists, contact the Scality Support.
ClusterCapacityWarning	Warning	Cluster capacity usage is above the warning threshold. Free space or plan disk expansion or node expansion.
ClusterCapacityCritical	Critical	Cluster capacity usage is above the critical threshold. Write operations are now forbidden. Free space or expand capacity immediately.
ClusterCapacityCriticalWriteProtectionDisabled	Critical	Cluster capacity usage is above the critical threshold. Write protection is disabled — writes may still be accepted, but capacity is critically low. Free space or expand capacity immediately.
