Fail to Log In When a Remote Identity Provider is Registered¶
Problem Description¶
Local users cannot log in to the ARTESCA UI when a remote Identity Provider (IdP) is configured but temporarily unreachable. Even if the local user exists in the internal database, the authentication attempt fails during the login process.
Root Cause¶
When a remote IdP is configured, ARTESCA checks the remote directory first, even for local users. If the remote IdP is unreachable, the lookup fails and the login process is aborted without falling back to local authentication.
Problem Resolution¶
You must ensure that the remote IdP is available and reachable from the ARTESCA server.
Check that the IdP server is up and responsive.
Check the network connectivity between the ARTESCA server and the IdP server.
If recent changes were made to the firewall or routing rules, ensure that the ARTESCA server can still access the IdP server.
If the issue persists, contact Scality Support.
