Configuration

Prerequisites

  • The Appliance is racked

  • The Appliance back-end network ports are connected to the internal switches (for 3N-377TB only)

  • The Appliance front-end network ports are connected

  • All units of the appliance are powered on

Configure the Front-End Network

  1. Connect to the IPMI with the credentials: Username: admin, Password: Start123!.

  2. Connect to the OS Console. When configuring 3N-377TB, you need to connect to the OS console on each server.

    The ARTESCA OS provides two users with a respective default and insecure password:

    • An artesca-os user with the default password scality.

    • A root user with the default password scalityadmin.

    Warning

    To ensure the security of your ARTESCA OS, you must log in with these users at least once to update the password.

    Refer to Change Password for more information on how to change your passwords.

    Once ARTESCA is installed, you cannot SSH as the root user. To log in as the root user, connect directly to the server (physically or using an IPMI console). You must use the root user only on Scality support requests.

    You will be asked to change your password at first login.

  3. Configure ARTESCA HW Appliance Frontend.

    Important

    When configuring 3N-377TB appliance, which is with 3 nodes, this procedure needs to be run on the node having Server Node-1 label on the hardware. This is the only machine that has artesca-installer embedded.

    When running the installer tool, you will be asked for:

    • The Network Interfaces configuration (Bonding, GTW, DNS, NTP)

    • The Management IP on which to expose the UI

    • The Data Listening IPs on which to exposes the S3 endpoint

    • The base domain that will be used to prefix all endpoints
