Preparation¶
Verify the Content of the Box¶
Make sure the box contains all the required equipment.
1 x ARTESCA server
1 x Rail kit
1 x Accessory box:
1 x Bezel
2 x Power cables
Rail screws
HDD screws
HDD stickers (for disk replacement)
3 x ARTESCA server
3 x Rail kit
3 x Accessory Box:
1 x Bezel
2 x Power cables
Rail screws
HDD screws
HDD stickers (for disk replacement)
2 x 24 ports ethernet switches (and power cables)
1 x Network cable pack:
2x 0.5m QSFP direct attach copper cables for switch trunks
12x 1.5m QSFP direct attach copper cables for server to switch connections
Prerequisites¶
Collect your network information concerning DNS, NTP, Gateway and server IP addresses.
Decide on a base domain (a DNS address where ARTESCA services are accessed i.e. s3.basedomain, iam.basedomain and management.basedomain)
Ensure that your existing corporate switches are configured with bonding (LACP recommended) or VLAN tagging if needed.
The airflow of the server is front to back. For 3N-377TB, server and switch rear views should be on the same side.

Attach server rail kits to your rack and install server onto rails using the provided rail screws.
Cable the server:
Attach power cables to the server (3) and rack outlet.
Attach network cables to the server and your existing network switches for front end connectivity. Connect the switches to either the 2x RJ45 ports using ports labeled FR-RJ-1 (10) and FR-RJ-2 (11) or the 2x SFP ports labeled FR-SF-1 (12) and FR-SF-2 (13) ports depending on your switch connectivity.
Connect the IPMI server port (7) to your existing IPMI LAN or connect your screen and keyboard using VGA (6) and USB (8) ports.
Power on the server and verify that all leds are on:
Server Front Power Button (1)
Server Front Drives (2)
Server Rear Power Units (3)
Server Rear Service Disks (5)
Server Rear Network ports (7,10,11,12,13)
Fix the bezel to the front of the server:
Place the left side of the bezel using locating pins into the server holes.
Push the right side of the bezel using locating detents into the server recess.

Attach server rail kits to your rack and install the 3 servers onto rails using the provided rail screws.
Attach switch rail kits to your rack and install the 2 switches onto rails using the provided rail screws.
Attach power cables to the server (3) and rack outlet.
Attach power cables to the internal switches and rack outlet.
Cable the servers to the internal switches as shown in Servers to Internal Switches graphic
Attach network cables to each server and the internal network switches for back-end connectivity. Connect the internal switches to the 2x SFP ports labeled BE-1 (14) and BE-2 (15), using the 1.5m QSFP cables labeled server source (Node-1,2,3, BE-1 or BE-2) and switch destination port (Switch-1,2 Port-21,22,23).
Attach network cables to each server and the internal network switches for management connectivity. Connect the internal switches to the 2x SFP ports labeled MGMT-1 (16) and MGMT-2 (17), using the 1.5m QSFP cables labeled server source (Node-1,2,3, MGMT-1 or MGMT-2) and switch destination port (Switch-1,2 Port-1,2,3).
Attach network trunk cables to the 2 internal network switches using the 0.5m QSFP cable labeled (Switch1, Port-25,26 ) for source and (Switch-2, Port-25,26) for destination.
