Map Roles to Users and Groups

You can map admin ARTESCA roles to users and groups, whether they are local or remote (LDAP for instance).

Users get a Permission denied error if they try to access a menu entry without the expected permissions assigned to the role.

Available roles include Platform Admin, Storage Manager, Storage Usage Reporter, and Platform Reader. Refer to Admin Roles for more information on the roles and their permissions.

Users

1. Click Identity on the top menu and click Users on the left.

2. Select the user (local or remote) you want to map roles to.

   

3. On the Overview tab, check the box for each role you want to map to the user.

   

   Note

   To create a user with access limited to Grafana monitoring dashboards, do not assign any roles to this user.

4. Click Save to apply the changes.

Groups

1. Click Identity on the top menu and click Groups on the left.

2. Select the group you want to map roles to.

   

3. On the Overview tab, check the box for each role you want to map to the group.

   

4. Click Save to apply the changes.
